KEY POINTS:

  • A PCR test is required 96 hours prior to arrival
  • You can only travel WITH a Sri Lankan visa, which must be applied for online

  • Do I need a  VISA to enter the country? Yes. Apply online
  • Do I need travel insurance ? Yes. A $12 Insurance Cover is necessary, (covering up to $50,000)
  • Do I need a PCR test before flying? Yes. Make sure it’s a travel certified test and printed out
  • If so, how many hours before arrival? 96 hours 
  • Do I need a further PCR test once on Sri Lankan soil  ?All travellers are required to pre-purchase 2 PCR tests via the app; should the stay exceed 7 days, the traveller is required to purchase 3 PCR tests; as deemed by the Medical Officer of Health.
  • How long do I need to quarantine ?14 days quarantine is mandatory, in a certified level one hotel

  • Do I need to stay for the full quarantine time, or can I leave earlier ? During the initial 14-day period, the guest can choose to continue staying at the current hotel or any other Level 1 certified ‘Safe & Secure’ hotel (travelling under a bio-security bubble); providing their on-arrival PCR tested negative.
  • Tourists are not permitted to move outside the hotel for a period of up to 14 days; except for approved tourist sites by the COVID Taskforce; in consultation with the Ministry of Health) under a bio-security bubble (provided the on-arrival PCR test is a negative result).
